Test of alkalinity and kH in drops for marine aquariums (100 -200 measurements approx).
The KH Salifert test / Alk test is very simple.
Measure in enough small steps of 0.1 mEq / L or 0.3 dKH with strong color change.
The Salifert test is sensitive enough to detect small changes in alkalinity levels, measuring in 0.1 mEq / L steps and demonstrating a very sharp color change.
Calcium is not the only substance necessary to form the skeletal material of corals and calcareous algae to allow them to grow.
Carbonate and bicarbonate are also needed, and these two substances can have a significant effect on stabilizing or buffering pH levels in the aquarium in the correct range of 8.1 to 8.4.
Total carbonate and bicarbonate concentration are also called alkalinity or carbonate hardness and in a stable system the alkalinity should not vary by more than 5% with respect to the optimum level of approx. 2.8 mEq / L, that is, a maximum fluctuation of 0.14 meq / L.
It can be used in marine, fresh water aquariums or ponds.
